Setup

Good news—if you've connected Google Calendar, Google Meet is already available! The integration uses the same Google account connection.

If you haven't connected Google yet:

  1. Go to Settings → Accounts
  2. Click Add account
  3. Select Google
  4. Complete authorization
  5. Google Meet is now ready to use

Creating Google Meet Links

When Scheduling Events

  1. Create a new event
  2. Click the video conferencing button
  3. Select Google Meet
  4. A Meet link is automatically generated

For Existing Events

  1. Open an event
  2. Click Add video conferencing
  3. Choose Google Meet
  4. Save changes

Joining Meetings

To join a Google Meet call:

  1. Click on the event in your calendar
  2. Click the Join button
  3. Google Meet opens in your browser or app

Keyboard shortcut: Press ⌘+Shift+J to join your next upcoming call.

Bot-Free Recording

Amie's desktop app records Google Meet calls without adding a bot to the meeting:

How It Works

  1. Join your Google Meet call normally
  2. Click Record in Amie's meeting panel
  3. Your desktop app captures system audio locally
  4. When the meeting ends, audio is uploaded for processing
  5. Receive transcription, summary, and action items

Requirements

  • Amie desktop app (macOS or Windows)
  • System audio capture permissions enabled
  • Meeting must be active

Privacy Benefits

  • No bot joins your meeting
  • Other participants don't see a recording indicator from Amie
  • Audio is processed on your device first

Transcription & Notes

After a recorded meeting:

  1. Audio is uploaded to secure cloud storage
  2. AssemblyAI transcribes the conversation
  3. AI generates a summary with key points
  4. Action items are extracted and assigned
  5. Notes appear in your meeting details

Processing typically takes a few minutes depending on meeting length.

Troubleshooting

Meet Link Not Generating

  • Ensure your Google account is connected
  • Check that you have permission to create Meet links
  • Try refreshing or reconnecting your Google account

Recording Not Working

  • Verify you're using the desktop app (not web)
  • Check system audio permissions in your OS settings
  • Ensure the meeting is active before clicking Record

Transcription Issues

  • Long meetings may take more time to process
  • Check Settings → Transcription for language preferences
  • Ensure the audio quality was clear during the meeting

Google Workspace Restrictions

Some Google Workspace admins restrict Meet features:

  • Check with your IT admin if features are unavailable
  • External recording may be disabled by organization policy

  • I know someone who’d love Amie and would like to refer them. How do I start?

To start the referral process, please sign up for our referral program here. Once you’ve signed up, you can share your unique referral link via email, social networks, and direct email invite. Please note, in order to take part in our referral program, terms and conditions apply. You may view the terms of service of our referral program here.

  • What is a successful referral?

In order for a referral to count, the person you’ve referred must be brand new to Amie when they sign up.

  • How do I know how many of my referrals have signed up?

Once you’ve signed up for our referral program, you will be able to see how many referrals have signed up by logging into our referral program homepage here.

  • If one of my referral signs up, when and how do I get my reward?

We manually approve all rewards. Once your reward is approved, you will receive an email from us notifying you with more details.

  • My referral forgot to use my unique referral link to sign up. Is there a way I can still receive credit?

Amie Referral Program Terms of Service

  • Self-referrals are not allowed. Cheating will get you permanently banned from our referral program.

  • We reserve the right to disqualify rewards earned through fraudulent, illegal, or abusive methods.

  • We will only count referrals on links that are automatically tracked and reported by our system. We will not credit a referral if someone says they signed up or someone says they entered a referral code and it was not tracked by our system.

  • We reserve the right to change the terms of service for our referral program at any time.

  • You may not use our referral program for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. You must not violate any laws in your jurisdiction.
